So my holidays are soon to start (counting down the days!), and I'm trying to plan out what to do with myself for the next 6 weeks.
I finally got around to buying my sewing machine, so Poetry and Lyrics will now officially get off the ground. I hope to have a few bags done by the end of the end of my holiday (leather work is involved, so it takes more time).
I also have my lovely friend Malaga visiting me. Unfortunately, she brought a travel companion with her I have dubbed "Princess Hypocrite" (or La Princesa). This girl claims to think all Japanese girls are a cross between whores and bitches, yet does her best to imitate the most irritating girls on the island; 小悪魔 or whatever the hell they call themselves.
She has the bleached, bouffant hair, the overly made up face (with enough kohl liner around the eyes to supply Kate Moss for a year), the cellphone covered in miniature plastic donuts, ice cream and swarovski crystals, the mincing gate, the minimum of clothing, the need to check herself out in EVERY SINGLE REFLECTIVE SURFACE, the ability to gush over something "cute" and make vicious remarks about strangers in a single breath, and be the most manipulative human being ever.
It took me all of 2 minutes to decide I loathed her. It would have been sooner, but I was fighting against my feelings for the sake of Malaga.
It's too bad that she and Malaga are kind of a package deal until Princess goes home in early August. After she leaves I think I'll be hanging out with Malaga more often.
In other news, the scandal at my place of employment gets more and more juicy. Apparently now the boss is hospitalized. I foresee this being a ruse rather like what most politicians do when they've been caught red-handed. He will stay in the hospital a while, and come out saying he's too ill to continue at his post. He'll voluntarily resign, thereby avoiding any shameful legal hearings or further scandal for the company. Nicely done. Lucky it works so well in Japan. The real question is not will the boss resign, but rather will they replace him now or wait until the next semester? Intriguing. It's almost like I have a mini model of the Japanese parliamentary system in my own workplace. I can watch inequity at work. By the way, my workplace is getting famous. We were on a certain national news program again last Thursday night. Hee hee.
